How to get started?

다이브 마스터 (Diver Master)

When you add the Diving Science Specialty to your Dive Guide, you become a Dive Master. A Dive Master can conduct Try Scuba (pool only) and assist in pool/confined water and ocean instruction under the direct supervision of an SSI Instructor. Breakfast, lunch, textbooks, and Dive Master application fees are separate for boat dives during the course.

There are three ways to become a DCS. You can take the Dive Guide, Diving Science and Dive Control Specialist courses as separate programs, take all three as a single program, or take them if you have a Divemaster rating from another approved organization. As a Dive Control Specialist, you can supervise and guide certified divers, assist SSI Instructors in the classroom, pool and ocean, and teach skills in the classroom and pool under the indirect supervision of an SSI Instructor (except emergency skills).
Instructor Training Course (강사개발 과정)
SSI College's SSI Instructor Training Course (ITC) is conducted for a total of 10 days under the supervision of SSI trainers and staff. After completing the prescribed instructor training course, you will take the 2-day Instructor Examination (IE). If you pass this exam, you can work as an SSI Open Water Instructor and Stress & Rescue Instructor. The Instructor Examination (IE) will evaluate scuba diving theory and skill tests, academics, pools, and ocean teaching abilities.
- During the training course, free shared accommodation is provided at the guesthouse. If you wish to stay at another hotel, please inquire separately.

Open Water Instructor (오픈워터 강사)
Once you become a Dive Control Specialist and complete the Instructor Training Course and Instructor Evaluation Course procedures, you become an Open Water Instructor (OWI). As an Open Water Instructor, you can teach and certify Indoor Diver, Scuba Diver, Junior Open Water Diver, Open Water Diver, Advanced Adventurer, Scuba Skills Update, Try Scuba, Try Scuba Diving, Nitrox, and Diver Stress & Rescue.
Specialty Instructor (스페셜티 강사)
After becoming an Open Water Instructor, you can work toward the SSI Specialty Instructor rating. You can become authorized by attending a Specialty Instructor Seminar, co-teaching, or applying. The program includes: Altitude Diving, Boat Diving, Deep Diving, Digital Underwater Photography, Dry Suit Diving, Equipment Techniques, Navigation, Night & Limited Visibility Diving, High Buoyancy, Diving Science, Search & Recovery, Shark Diver, Waves, Tides & Currents, and Wreck Diving.
Advanced Open Water Instructor (어드밴스드 오픈 워터 강사)
Once you have earned all four Specialty Instructor certifications and have issued 15 Specialty certifications, you will automatically be upgraded to an Advanced Open Water Instructor. AOWI is authorized to teach the Advanced Open Water Diver/Junior Advanced Open Water Diver, Dive Guide, Science of Diving, Divemaster and Snorkel Instructor programs, as well as all additional specialties.
Dive Master Instructor (다이브 마스터 강사)
Additionally, by issuing 30 Open Water Diver certifications, you will be eligible to upgrade to the Dive Control Specialist Instructor. Dive Control Specialist Instructors can teach all the same programs as the Advanced Open Water Instructor, plus teach and certify in the Dive Control Specialist program, and assist Instructor Trainers under direct supervision during the Instructor Training Course (ITC).
Instructor Trainer (강사 트레이너)
After you successfully complete the Instructor Trainer Seminar and 150 certifications, you can teach all the same courses as a Dive Control Specialist Instructor, plus teach and certify Instructor Training Courses (ITCs), Specialty Instructor, Advanced Open Water Instructor, Dive Control Specialist Instructor, and Dive Professional upgrade programs, and assist Instructor Evaluators (ICs) on the Open Water Instructor rating (IE).
